The Canadian government is committed to keeping families together whenever possible and offers a number of ways to allow this dream to become a reality under its Family Class Sponsorship class.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Canada\u2019s Family Class Sponsorship programs are the most generous family reunification programs in the developed world.&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Family Members Eligible for Sponsorship<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To be eligible, the person seeking sponsorship must be a:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Spouse, Common-law partner or Conjugal partner or fianc\u00e9<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spouse\u2019s or common-law partner\u2019s dependent child<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Dependent child, Grandchild who is still a dependent<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mother or father, Grandmother or grandfather<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sibling, nephew, niece, or grandchild under 18 years who is unmarried and whose parents are deceased<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is a Spouse\/Partner?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Individuals under these categories are eligible for sponsorship:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Spouse: legally valid marriage in country of origin and under Canadian law<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Common-law partner:\u00a0At least 1 year of uninterrupted cohabitation in a conjugal relationship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conjugal partner:\u00a0Conjugal relationship for at least 12 months where couple is prevented from living together due to immigration barriers, religious reasons, sexual orientation or marital status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Same-sex relationships:\u00a0considered valid for immigration purposes under these categories<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is a Dependent Child?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A child of the sponsor, or a child of the sponsor\u2019s spouse or common-law partner, can be considered a dependent child if they are under age 22 and don\u2019t have a spouse or common-law partner of their own.
